Renowned youth poetry troupe, Get Lit Players brings to the microphone spoken word poetry as a vital, evolving art form that inspires and responds to the urgency of everyday life for Los Angeles youth. Get Lit showcases contemporary and classic poetry ranging from Shakespeare to Nipsey Hussle and original spoken word responses, illustrating the ongoing interplay between past and present in this powerful medium.

The evening will be hosted by Mason Granger, Deputy Director of Get Lit and former host of the Bowery Poetry open mic in New York City. Get Lit is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit whose mission is to harness the power of the spoken word to increase literacy, empower youth, and energize communities through poetry and visual media.
