Artist Kerry Tribe, whose work The Aphasia Poetry Club (2015) is on view in the Hammer’s Together in Time exhibition through June 5th, shares insights into her practice and process capturing the voices of people living with the language disorder aphasia. Tribe deploys a variety of media to investigate the slippage between authentic and scripted interactions, and collective versus personal experiences. Afterwards, Tribe will be joined onstage by curator Connie Butler for a conversation about Tribe’s work in relation to the Hammer contemporary collection. Audience Q&A and a reception with light refreshments to follow.
