Creativity in the Courtyard is a series of art-making events inspired by our exhibitions. Free and open to all!

Celebrate Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month with a paper arts activity inspired by mola, a traditional textile made by the Guna women of Panama and Colombia, featuring layers of colored fabrics stitched together to create patterns. Create your own artworks by layering colorful paper to depict flowers, birds, reptiles, animals, and other flora and fauna. Participants are invited to view the exhibition Intersections: World Arts, Local Lives and learn about other traditions from across Latin America.

Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15, a date coinciding with the commemoration of independence across several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
