Global Cuisine: Peru, From Scratch

A celebration of Peruvian cuisine, co-presented with PROMPERÚ.

Saturday, Mar. 26, 2:30 p.m.

Free

Join us at the Fowler for a celebration of Peruvian cuisine, co-presented with PROMPERÚ, the Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism. We’ll screen an episode of the hit FYI food travel series From Scratch, hosted by David Moscow, which explores classic Peruvian cuisine with executive chef Marilu Madueno of La Huaca Pucllana, one of the best restaurants in Lima. After learning how Peruvian ingredients have shaped food around the world, Moscow journeys across the country to source these foundational ingredients and try his hand at Peruvian cooking. A post-screening conversation with Conrado Falco, Director of PROMPERÚ Los Angeles, will follow. Afterward, join us for a reception and enjoy Peruvian food and drink.

David Moscow is the creator, executive producer, and host of From Scratch. He made his feature film debut at age 13 in Big, starring as the young Tom Hanks; soon after, he starred opposite Christian Bale in Newsies. Over the past 20 years, Moscow has appeared in dozens of films, television shows, and theater productions. More recently, he founded UnLTD Pictures, a production company. Moscow currently lives in LA with his wife and son; and develops mixed income, sustainable, green apartment buildings in NYC.
