Join us for a screening of Behind Closed Doors: An Unspoken History of Queer Student Life, directed by Kate Ahn ‘25 and produced by the LGBTQ+ Student Advocacy Committee at the UCLA LGBTQ+ Campus Resource Center (CRC).

Behind Closed Doors is a short documentary that shares the stories of LGBTQ+ UCLA alumni of color, shedding light on the unspoken history of queer student life.

Bringing together alumni interviews and the broader historical and political context of LGBTQ+ life in LA, the film recounts how  UCLA has created  space for reflection on the struggle of LGBTQ+ visibility, and discusses new possibilities for future UCLA LGBTQ+ students. A post-screening conversation with the film participants will follow, with food and drinks offered in the Fowler courtyard. Space is limited, RSVP is required.

This program is presented in partnership with the UCLA LGBTQ+ CRC, with support from the UCLA LGBTQ+ Studies and the Queer Alliance.

UCLA LGBTQ CRC has proudly served UCLA for over 25 years, providing a comprehensive range of educational and advocacy services that support intersectional identity development; as well as foster unity, wellness, and an open, safe, and inclusive environment for UCLA’s LGBTQ+ community. The LGBTQ CRC supports all sexual and gender identities, and serves the entire UCLA population: undergraduates, graduate and professional students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The center welcomes visitors to stop by, attend its programs, utilize its services, and participate in allyship training.

PRIDE at The Fowler: Every June, people across the globe pay respect to those involved in the Stonewall Uprising of June 28, 1969. On that morning, New York City police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club in Greenwich Village—an event that ignited protests in the city and around the world, catalyzing the gay rights movement. The Fowler honors Pride Month with robust programs that celebrate LGTBTQ+ artists.

Parking available in UCLA Lot 4, 198 Westwood Plaza, directly off Sunset Blvd; $3/hr or max $15/day. Rideshare drop-off at 305 Royce Dr.
